TERMINAL T1 REMODELING DESIGN. BARCELONA EL PRAT AIRPORT

Technical assistance for the design and modernization of Terminal T1 at Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport. Project focused on functional optimization of the building, passenger experience, and technological upgrading of infrastructure. Investment amount: €700 million. Total area: 152,000 m².

Description

Detailed design of the remodeling of the T1 Terminal Area of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport covers a total area of 137,310 m², including 69,600 m² of new construction, 48,750 m² of refurbishment and 18,960 m² on exterior roads. The main actions include the reconfiguration of the Processor building, enlarging the check-in hall (P30) and the baggage reclaim hall (P10), with new racecourses and ATRS-EDS security filters. The passport area (P20), toilet cores, commercial areas and terraces will be refurbished.

New facilities will also be created, such as a SPAI room and technical areas for SATE. In addition, new vertical connections, structural improvements, bench electrification, and a new area for inadmissible passengers will be implemented. The project includes the integration of a new façade and roof, aligned with the current aesthetics of the building.​
